FACTS & QUESTIONS
The founders of Bethel SOZO, Dawna DeSilva and Teresa Liebscher, brought a team of 12 people and spent five days with New Horizons Church over 10 years ago in 2007 - ministering to over 50 Core Leaders of the church and put on the Basic Seminar with 100 attendees. A few months later we had a couple members of the same team return to New Horizons to spend several days with the New Horizons SOZO Team, mentoring them and developing their skills in leading people to encounter God through a SOZO. The leaders of the New Horizons SOZO Team have an ongoing relationship with Bethel's SOZO leaders and with other Regional SOZO Leaders around the world - meeting each year at SOZO Summit at Redding. Stan Mishler of of the New Horizons SOZO Ministry serves as the Regional Director of Oregon and Washington for Bethel SOZO Ministry. He meets with Regional Directors from around the world for continued training and relational connections, and works in step with Teresa Liebscher.
While there is no charge for the SOZO sessions, there is a suggested donation to help with the ministry expenses and continued training of the team members. The SOZO Ministry Team are not paid staff of New Horizons Church although they are members of the congregation. The SOZO Team Leaders who receive renumeration for their ministry are independent contractors. We also find that people tend to value something more when they sow into their own healing and freedom. It's a matter of faith on part of the person receiving ministry which releases a greater grace and the blessing of heaven. Jesus said, "Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."(Luke 6:38 NIV)
